There are two objectives in documenting the work you perform:
|
 |
Documenting that the decking you will be repairing meets the Class
Action Standard demonstrated by the metal deck sample or "Coupon"
We always recommend a general overview to give a perspective of the
days work. In most cases this will be sufficient to document that
painting was required. Avoid taking pictures from too far away.
If you tear off more than 30 sqs, take additional photos.
Take a picture of areas requiring overlay or remove and replace with
the "Coupon" on the deck. If you do not have a coupon,
do not start the project.

 |
Documenting the quantity of repairs you have completed
A photo of the same area
as your overview is a good way to document the quantity of area painted.
Do not take pictures of painting in progress, only completed work.
A photo of
each area of deckwork is recommended. Make sure you take photos of
completed work (not in-progress) before covering it up with insulation.

| Tips: |
1.Take photos with your back to the sun.
2. If you are forced to
take photos at night, take lighted close-ups with the coupon on
the deck.
3. Whenever possible,
take photos facing the direction of the flues.
4. Set your camera to
around 640x480 or lower to achieve file size of 200 kb or lower
